Three hardcore Naxalites each carrying a reward of 3 lakh rupees surrendered before the Bihar DGP in Munger. This marks a major step in the state’s fight against insurgency. The three rebels chose to give up violence and return to normal life.
The Naxalites were identified as Narayan Koda, Bahadur Koda, and Vinod “Bino” Koda. Narayan and Bahadur were senior commanders with a bounty of 3 lakh rupees each. Vinod was part of their armed squad and involved in violent activities.
During the surrender, they handed over weapons including INSAS rifles, SLR rifles, more than 500 live cartridges, and bomb detonators. Police confirmed that many criminal cases were registered against them in Munger, Lakhisarai, and Jamui districts.
Officials said the surrender shows the impact of strong security operations and the state’s rehabilitation policy. Under this policy, the former rebels and their families will receive financial support, training, and other benefits to start a new life.
The Bihar police welcomed their decision and said such surrenders strengthen peace and safety in the region.
