Mizoram has started a two-day Tlaizawng Paradise tourism event in Saitual, drawing visitors and officials from across the state. The event aims to showcase the region’s natural beauty, culture, and travel opportunities. Local organisers said it also provides a platform for small businesses and artisans to connect with tourists.
Chief Minister Zoramthanga inaugurated the event and welcomed everyone warmly. He encouraged residents and visitors to explore lesser-known destinations in Mizoram and experience the state’s traditions, festivals, and cuisine. He added that tourism helps strengthen the local economy and provides employment opportunities, particularly for young people.
During the event, visitors can enjoy traditional Mizo dances, music performances, and cultural displays. Various stalls feature handicrafts and authentic Mizo food, giving guests a chance to taste local delicacies. Additionally, exhibitions explain the lifestyle and history of communities around Saitual. Nature walks and photography spots highlight the area’s green hills and panoramic views.
Officials noted that Saitual has great potential for tourism growth. They explained that hosting events like Tlaizawng Paradise can attract travelers from across India and even overseas. Furthermore, the programme helps local artists and small vendors reach wider audiences and generate income.
The Department of Tourism plans to hold similar festivals in other districts later this year. They hope combining cultural activities with natural experiences will increase Mizoram’s appeal as a travel destination in Northeast India. Visitors attending the first day praised the colourful performances, scenic locations, and the friendly atmosphere, which reflects the warmth of Mizo culture.
The two-day event continues through the weekend, offering more cultural shows, food stalls, and activities for tourists and local families. Organisers are confident that Tlaizawng Paradise will become a recurring attraction and strengthen Mizoram’s tourism profile in the coming years.
