Tourism Sector Attracts Massive Investments Across Andhra Pradesh
The tourism sector in Andhra Pradesh is growing fast. According to Minister Kandula Durgesh, the tourism sector has attracted ₹30,000 crore in investments in just 16 months. He said this growth shows strong confidence from investors and steady progress in tourism development across the State.
Twenty-seven projects—covering hotels, resorts and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) centres—are moving ahead in different districts. These projects will add 4,597 new rooms, improving accommodation options for tourists and business travellers.
The Minister said the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) cleared all these proposals, and construction activities are happening at a good pace. He said the government aims to create high-quality tourism hubs that encourage private investment and generate long-term employment.
Andhra Pradesh also secured ₹428 crore from the Central government for developing major tourist destinations. This funding will support better roads, improved amenities and stronger promotion of heritage and eco-tourism spots.
Durgesh said the State now sees tourism as a key economic driver. He expressed confidence that once the new hotels, resorts and MICE facilities open, the State will attract more domestic and international visitors.
