Early Tuesday morning, a 20-year-old woman named Anamika Tiwari died after jumping from the roof of her rented house in Nayatola. She lived there with her boyfriend, Abhiraj Kumar Arya, for the past few months. They had been in a relationship for years and had recently moved to Patna to start a new life together.
They were also planning a court marriage soon.
According to Abhiraj, he was at his shop on Monday night. Around midnight, the landlord called him and said something had happened and he must return home quickly. When he reached the house, he saw Anamika lying outside. With the help of neighbours, he rushed her to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead.
Anamika’s family had not reached Patna until late evening, and the police stated that the exact reason for why the girl jumped from the roof is still under investigation.
