US President Donald Trump has once again defended his aggressive tariff policy, calling it a major success for America. He claimed the United States has become the “richest” and “most respected” nation under his leadership, crediting tariffs for record stock market highs and strong 401(k) returns.
Trump stated that every American, except the wealthy, will soon receive at least $2,000 from tariff revenues. He also said that the country is collecting trillions in revenue and will start paying off its $37 trillion debt.
On his Truth Social platform, Trump dismissed critics as “fools” and insisted that businesses are investing in the US only because of his tariffs. He argued that the President has the authority to impose such measures for national security.
His comments came as the US Supreme Court questioned the legality of his sweeping tariffs. Both conservative and liberal justices raised concerns over whether Trump had exceeded his authority under a 1977 emergency law. The court’s decision could reshape presidential trade powers and influence America’s global trade relations.
