US President Donald Trump has repeated the same warning to Iran at least 74 times: Tehran cannot have a nuclear weapon. The White House says he has stayed consistent for more than a decade.
Officials released a compilation of his statements from 2011 onward. The message rarely changed, even when the wording did. Trump has rejected uranium enrichment and any path toward a bomb.
On February 24, 2026, he said Iran was warned after “Midnight Hammer” not to rebuild its weapons programme. He added that he would never allow what he called the world’s top sponsor of terror to obtain nuclear arms. Days earlier, he stressed that peace in the Middle East would be impossible if Iran gained such weapons.
His position predates his presidency. In 2019, he declared in capital letters that Iran would never have a nuclear weapon. In 2024 and 2025, he repeated the same demand at rallies and public events.
Iran’s nuclear programme has shaped US policy in West Asia for years. Disputes over enrichment and sanctions continue to drive tensions.
