Trump Trade Deal Clash Sparks Hoarse Voice

Trump

US President Donald Trump said a heated trade dispute caused his hoarse voice during a White House meeting. He addressed reporters on Monday while speaking with the task force for the FIFA World Cup 2026. A reporter asked about his voice, and Trump quickly dismissed any health concerns. He said he had “shouted at people” during a tense exchange over a trade agreement.

Trump explained that officials from a foreign country tried to change the terms of an existing deal. He refused to name the nation. He said only that he “straightened it out” after a loud and direct argument. When pressed for details, he declined and asked, “Why would I say that to you?”

The United States has recently held trade talks with Japan, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia. Trump also met Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea in October. Both leaders described progress in their ongoing discussions.

Trump said China agreed to help the US fight the fentanyl crisis. In return, he planned to cut tariffs on Chinese goods by 10 percent. He also said he paused a major new tariff that was set for November 1 after China delayed export limits on rare-earth magnets. Trump described the meeting with Xi as “a 12 out of 10.”
