Trump Ukraine Peace Plan Deadline Pressure Builds

Trump

US President Donald Trump has pushed forward his 28-point proposal to end the war in Ukraine. He told reporters that the plan is not final and said he hopes the conflict will end soon. His proposal would require Ukraine to give up land, reduce its military, and never join NATO. Trump said these terms aim to create a fast path to peace.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted cautiously and indicated he would present alternatives. Russian leader Vladimir Putin said he is open to discussing the plan. However, he warned that Moscow will continue its offensive if Kyiv rejects the terms.

Trump suggested that November 27, Thanksgiving in the United States, could be a suitable date for a deal. He also said the deadline is flexible and depends on Zelensky’s acceptance. Trump stressed that Ukraine may have to accept some compromise if fighting continues.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff are expected in Geneva on Sunday. They will meet US and European officials to discuss the proposal and explore possible progress toward negotiations.
