The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is planning a major development project in Ontimitta, Kadapa , aiming to transform the town into a prominent national tourist destination. As part of this initiative, proposals have been made to install a 600-foot statue of Lord Rama in the tank near the historic Ram Temple, which is expected to become a landmark attraction for pilgrims and tourists alike.
Experts from the School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada, have conducted feasibility studies and submitted a detailed report to TTD officials regarding the project’s design, structural requirements, and tourism potential.
The proposed statue, if realized, would be one of the tallest representations of Lord Rama in India, boosting spiritual tourism and local economic development. TTD’s efforts reflect its commitment to enhancing religious tourism while preserving the cultural heritage of Ontimitta.
