TTD to Name Tirumala Streets After Saints, Scholars and Devotees
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to name streets in Tirumala after great religious personalities, philosophers, and eminent devotees who enriched the spiritual and cultural legacy of the shrine. Announcing the initiative in Tirumala, Additional Executive Officer Venkaiah Chowdary said the move is not merely administrative but deeply devotional, intended as an homage to those who dedicated their scholarship, art, service, wealth, and unwavering devotion at the feet of Lord Venkateswara.
He said the renamed streets would help devotees, especially younger generations, learn about the contributions of saints, poets, theologians, and philanthropists who shaped the temple’s history. The initiative is expected to enhance the spiritual ambience of the hill temple by connecting public spaces with revered figures associated with the Tirumala tradition.
TTD officials added that the process of finalising names is underway, and signage reflecting the new nomenclature will be installed soon.
