U.P. CM Yogi Adityanath Criticises Silence on Bangladesh Violence, Warns Against Divisive Politics
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticised political leaders he described as “flag bearers of secularism” for remaining silent on the ongoing violence in Bangladesh. Speaking in Lucknow, he said those who divide society today can never be well-wishers of the nation and warned people to be cautious about the narratives promoted by opposition parties.
The CM emphasised that national unity and social harmony are essential for India’s progress, and leaders must speak out against injustice and violence, regardless of borders. He argued that selective outrage undermines the principles of secularism and democracy, and citizens should be aware of attempts to create communal divisions for political gains.
Yogi Adityanath’s comments come amid rising regional and international attention on the unrest in Bangladesh, highlighting the need for consistent condemnation of violence. Officials noted that his remarks aim to reinforce social cohesion in the State and encourage political responsibility and accountability in public discourse.
