U.S. Ambassador Gor Arrives in India, Highlights ‘Incredible Opportunities’ for Bilateral Ties
U.S. Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti Gor arrived in New Delhi on Friday, expressing optimism about the future of India–U.S. relations and saying there were “incredible opportunities ahead” for both nations. In a brief statement on arrival, the Ambassador underlined the growing strategic, economic and people-to-people ties between the two countries, adding that cooperation would continue to expand across multiple sectors.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reiterated India’s commitment to pursuing a “balanced” and mutually beneficial trade agreement with the United States. The MEA said New Delhi remained engaged with Washington through ongoing dialogue to address market access issues, supply chains and emerging technologies, while safeguarding India’s core economic interests.
The Ambassador’s arrival comes at a time when India and the U.S. are seeking to deepen collaboration in defence, clean energy, semiconductors and critical technologies. Officials on both sides have emphasised that a stable and forward-looking partnership is essential for regional and global stability.
The visit is expected to give fresh momentum to bilateral engagement in the coming months.
