U.S. Sanctions 32 Entities, Including Indian Firm, Over Iran’s Missile Programme
The United States on Wednesday imposed sanctions on 32 entities and individuals from multiple countries, including India, for allegedly supporting Iran’s ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle programmes. The U.S. Treasury Department identified India-based Farmlane Private Limited as one of the entities linked to a UAE-based firm, Marco Klinge, accused of facilitating the procurement of materials for Iran’s defence industry. The sanctions freeze all U.S.-based assets of the listed entities and prohibit American citizens and companies from conducting business with them. Washington said the move was part of ongoing efforts to disrupt Iran’s “destabilising weapons activities” in the Middle East. The Treasury added that partners and allies had been informed to take coordinated action. The Indian government has yet to issue an official response regarding the inclusion of Farmlane in the sanctions list.
