Upper Caste Man Age Should Be 40 Years in Jobs – Bihar Panel Proposal

Upper caste man age should be 40 years in jobs recommendation by Bihar panel

Upper Caste Man Age Should Be 40 Years in Jobs – Bihar’s Savarna Commission has recommended that the upper caste man age should be 40 years in jobs. Currently, men from forward castes face an age limit of 37 years for government positions. The panel says raising it to 40 years will allow poor upper caste men to compete fairly.

The commission also suggested new measures to support students from upper caste backgrounds. They proposed building 100‑bed hostels in every district. Students who pass preliminary competitive exams will get coaching for the main exams. Those who do not clear the next stage can stay for two years and receive job-related skill training.

In addition, the panel recommended creating a development finance corporation for upper caste entrepreneurs. This body would provide financial support for business projects after proper evaluation.

The recommendations, led by Chairman Mahachandra Prasad Singh, have been sent to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government. The government will review them before making any official decisions.
