US Pharma Giant Eli Lilly Discusses ₹9,000 Crore Investment in Hyderabad

Representatives of the US-based pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly met with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to discuss a major investment in Hyderabad. The company’s President, Patrick Johnson, outlined plans to set up a manufacturing plant and a quality control center, with an estimated investment of ₹9,000 crore.

The discussions focused on strengthening Hyderabad as a key hub for pharmaceutical production, leveraging the city’s existing infrastructure and industry ecosystem. Chief Minister Revanth assured the company of full government support in facilitating approvals, infrastructure, and operational requirements.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that Hyderabad is home to several major pharmaceutical firms and currently produces around 40% of the country’s bulk drugs, making it an ideal location for expansion. The proposed project is expected to generate significant employment opportunities and further consolidate Hyderabad’s position as a leading center for pharma manufacturing in India.
