Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Calls UKSSSC Row Cheating, Not Paper Leak

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami addresses UKSSSC controversy

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has clarified his stance on the ongoing UKSSSC recruitment exam controversy, stating that the issue is a case of cheating rather than a paper leak. Speaking at a public event in Dehradun, Dhami defended the state government’s handling of the situation and reiterated that strict action will be taken under the anti-copying law.

Dhami highlighted that his government, since coming to power in 2021, has focused on creating employment opportunities for youth, filling over 25,000 state government vacancies. He suggested that some groups unhappy with these efforts are attempting to disrupt the recruitment process by spreading misinformation on social media.

The Chief Minister explained that a true paper leak occurs when the entire exam paper is circulated before the test. In this instance, only partial content was accessed, and those who obtained it should have reported it immediately instead of sharing it later online. “This is not a leak; it is a case of cheating,” he emphasized.

To prevent such misconduct, Dhami pointed to the state’s anti-copying legislation, which ensures severe penalties for offenders. “Where there is law, crime can happen, but once identified, culprits will face strict punishment,” he added.

Regarding calls for a CBI investigation, Dhami noted that while some question the agency’s actions elsewhere, a section of people in Uttarakhand is demanding its involvement. To maintain impartiality, the government has already constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by a retired High Court judge to probe the matter thoroughly.
