In Sheohar, vigilance caught revenue employee in 10 thousand rupees bribery case in Sheohar after a trap operation. The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) arrested Ramkrit Mahto, a revenue officer, while he was taking a bribe of ₹10,000.
The complainant, Vinod Chandravanshi, said Mahto demanded money to process a land record mutation. He threatened that the mutation would not happen unless he paid ₹10,000. After verifying the complaint, the SVU set up a trap at the Purnahiya block office.
When the cash was handed over, vigilance caught revenue employee in 10 thousand rupees bribery case in Sheohar and arrested him on the spot. The officer is now being questioned, and he will be presented in Patna Vigilance Court soon.
Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister Vijay Sinha has warned government officials to act honestly. He emphasized that corruption, negligence, and manipulation in land records will be strictly punished. This case highlights ongoing efforts to curb bribery in land administration in Bihar.
