Disproportionate Assets Case vigilance raid recovery items

The Disproportionate Assets Case against Upendranath Verma became a major news highlight after a long vigilance raid in Bihar. The operation started on Wednesday afternoon and continued till late evening. The Vigilance Investigation Bureau searched his homes in Patna and Rosera, along with the Rosera Municipal Council office.

During the raid, the team recovered cash, jewellery, cars, and several land documents. The Disproportionate Assets Case gained more attention when officials found 10.5 lakh rupees in cash and jewellery worth 27 lakh rupees. They also recovered 14 land deed papers from different locations.

Officials found a bank passbook, an Innova, and a Swift Dzire car. Documents linked to insurance investments and household purchases were also taken from the residence. Surveillance teams found records of an investment of nearly two lakh rupees in SBI Life Insurance.

Another team from the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) conducted raids in Samastipur, recovering additional cash and documents. Employees at the municipal office created some disturbance during the search, but the operation continued smoothly.

Investigations are still going on at multiple places, including the Patna residence of the Executive Officer. Authorities say the case involves assets that far exceed known income.
