YCP senior leader Buddha Venkanna rejected allegations about Vijayawada Utsav. Speaking in Vijayawada, he said the opposition was spreading lies to block the festival. He accused Devineni Avinash, Vellampalli Srinivas, and Perni Nani of creating baseless controversies. Venkanna warned that their “records” would soon be revealed.
He clarified that the lands used for the festival would return to the Endowments Department after completion. Venkanna demanded that Perni Nani first explain the alleged land misuse in Machilipatnam. He asked why the opposition was targeting the government without answering about earlier scandals.
Meanwhile, Perni Nani accused the ruling coalition of planning to misuse temple property. He said 39.99 acres of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple land in Gollapudi were included in proposals. According to him, five acres were set aside for a golf practice range and 34.99 acres for an exhibition ground.
YCP leaders countered that the project would promote tourism and exhibitions, not land grabbing. They said the opposition was twisting facts to mislead people. Political tension continues in Vijayawada, with both sides trading allegations over temple lands and festival management.
