The upcoming Visakhapatnam Data Center has triggered a heated political tussle in Andhra Pradesh, with both TDP and YSRCP claiming credit for the project.
YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that the Adani Data Center agreement was initiated in November 2020 and that the foundation stone was laid in May 2023 during his tenure. He asserted that key groundwork, including infrastructure arrangements, progressed only under the YCP government.
Countering this, the TDP fired back, claiming that the project was conceived in 2019, when N. Chandrababu Naidu was the Chief Minister and that the initial understanding with the Adani Group was reached during their regime.
With both parties locked in a credit war, the Visakhapatnam Data Center has now become a fresh flashpoint in AP’s political battlefield.
