The Andhra Pradesh government has taken another major step to boost tourism in Visakhapatnam. The popular double-decker electric bus service has now been extended to the famous Simhachalam Temple. The service earlier operated along the beach stretch and gained strong public response. The government expanded the route to support spiritual tourism and help devotees reach the shrine with ease.
The buses earlier ran from RK Beach to Thotlakonda under the hop-on hop-off model. With the new extension, tourists can visit Kailasagiri, Indira Gandhi Zoo, Rushikonda and Simhachalam using a single ticket. Officials say the new route offers a smooth and eco-friendly travel experience. They also noted that the expanded service gives a unique view of the coastal city.
The ticket price is ₹250 for adults and ₹100 for children, with GST extra. The ticket remains valid for 24 hours, allowing passengers to board or get down anywhere along the route. The department expects strong demand for the new circuit as it benefits both tourists and devotees.
Officials believe this enhanced service will further strengthen Visakhapatnam’s tourism appeal. The double-decker buses offer panoramic views of the city, giving visitors a memorable travel experience.
