Visakhapatnam to Host Google’s ₹87,520 Cr AI and Cloud Hub

In a major boost to India’s digital infrastructure, Google has announced an investment of ₹87,520 crore to set up an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud Data Centre in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in New Delhi, marking one of the tech giant’s largest investments in the region.
The proposed facility will have a massive capacity of one gigawatt and is expected to become a key global hub for AI development and cloud computing services. This investment aligns with India’s growing push toward becoming a global digital powerhouse, while also creating thousands of jobs and supporting tech-driven economic growth in the region.
The Visakhapatnam data centre will not only strengthen Google’s footprint in India but also enhance data localisation, improve service efficiency, and offer a major infrastructure boost to Andhra Pradesh’s ambitions in the tech sector. Construction is expected to begin soon.
