Farmers in West Godavari have raised strong objections to a proposed sub-station project in their area. The farmers say that the land price offered by the authorities is too low and does not match the market value.
Local farmers gathered in Bhimavaram and submitted petitions demanding a fair price for their land. They argued that their lands are productive and have been cultivated for many years, so compensation should be properly calculated.
Officials from the power department explained that the project is important to improve electricity supply and support local development. However, farmers insisted that the authorities must negotiate and provide adequate compensation before taking over the land.
Community leaders called for dialogue between the government and farmers to resolve the issue peacefully. The farmers warned that they may protest if their demands are not met soon.
