White Revolution in Bihar is set to enter a new phase as the state prepares a large-scale plan focused on modern dairy farming. White Revolution in Bihar aims to improve milk production while creating better income opportunities for farmers.
The plan proposes setting up a model dairy firm along with scientific buffalo farming. Experts believe buffalo milk can bring higher profits because of strong market demand and better pricing.
Bihar Animal Sciences University has prepared the blueprint for this project. The plan includes rearing desi cows, Jersey cows, and buffaloes together. This mixed model can help farmers balance costs and improve productivity.
A modern dairy farm with a capacity of processing two lakh litres of milk per day is planned in Patna. The centre will also act as a training hub for young entrepreneurs and dairy farmers.
Officials say the project will support advanced breeding methods and animal health care. Farmers will receive guidance on nutrition, housing, and disease control.
The government will soon review the proposal. If approved, the scheme could strengthen Bihar’s dairy sector and create long-term rural employment.
Experts believe this initiative may become a turning point for farmers who depend on livestock for their livelihood.
