A Supaul woman found dead in a bamboo grove has shocked the entire district. The incident took place in Bina Ram Tola Ward 6. Rekha Devi, 46, had gone to sing at a nearby wedding on Sunday night. She did not return home the next morning. Her family searched for her but failed to reach her phone. The Supaul woman found dead was later identified after local children spotted her body while searching for a cricket ball.
Villagers informed the Sadar police station immediately. A police team, led by SDPO Shivendra Kumar Anubhavi and SHO Aniruddh Kumar, reached the spot and recovered the body. The body was taken to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
Rekha Devi’s younger son, Pintu, said he had dinner with her before she left for the wedding. When she did not return, the family grew worried. According to him, she was murdered and her body was dumped in the grove. Her mobile phone is still missing.
Police are investigating the case from all angles. SP Sharath RS said the exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem. The family is in deep shock. Her husband, children, and relatives are devastated.
