World’s Largest Eye Hospital in Bihar’s Saran to Open by 2027

Foundation stone of world’s largest eye hospital in Saran

Bihar is ready to make global history with the construction of the world’s largest eye hospital in Saran. The project, called Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital, will bring world-class treatment to millions of people.

The hospital will be built in Mastichak, Saran, and will have 1,000 beds, 19 operation theaters, and 50 eye examination rooms. With support from the Sankara Eye Foundation, USA, the project is expected to be completed by March 2027.

Doctors at the hospital will perform 300,000 free eye surgeries every year. By 2030, this number will increase to 500,000. Experts estimate that Bihar alone needs nearly one million cataract and other eye surgeries annually. At present, no hospital in the state has the capacity to meet this demand.

Shashi Sinha, advisory board member of Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital, said the hospital will transform eye care in Bihar. Patients from across India and abroad will benefit from advanced facilities and free surgeries.

The world’s largest eye hospital in Saran will not only serve Bihar but also strengthen India’s position in global healthcare. It promises hope for millions struggling with preventable blindness.
