World’s Largest Shivling Begins Historic Journey to Virat Ramayana Temple

World’s Largest Shivling being transported from Gopalganj to Virat Ramayana Temple

The World’s Largest Shivling has started its journey from Gopalganj, Bihar, and will be installed at the Virat Ramayana Temple on January 17. The World’s Largest Shivling has already become a major attraction, with thousands of devotees gathering to see it along the route.

The massive Shivling stands about 33 feet tall and weighs nearly 210 tonnes. Craftsmen carved it from a single granite stone in Tamil Nadu. Special vehicles and safety arrangements are helping transport the huge structure across states.

As the Shivling passed through towns and villages, people welcomed it with flowers, prayers, and chants of “Har Har Mahadev.” Local residents, saints, and temple committees joined the processions and performed rituals on the roadside.

Officials confirmed that the Shivling will be placed inside the under-construction Virat Ramayana Temple in East Champaran district. The temple is expected to become one of the biggest religious sites in the country after completion.

On January 17, priests will conduct a grand installation ceremony using holy water from major rivers. Authorities have arranged tight security and crowd management for the event.

Religious leaders say the installation marks a proud moment for Bihar and will boost faith-based tourism in the region.
