During the Budget Session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on February 11, 2026, members of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) protested and walked out of the House soon after Governor Abdul Nazeer began his speech. The YSRCP leaders said the Governor’s address included inaccuracies, exaggerated claims and false statements about the state’s progress. They said it did not mention important public issues and ignored concerns like debt, welfare schemes and law and order.
YSRCP members raised slogans inside the Assembly and demanded that their party be given the status of the principal Opposition so they could properly question the government. When their demand was not met, they left the session as a protest. Outside the Assembly, YSRCP leaders continued their demonstration, saying democracy was weakened because the party could not raise public issues in the House.
This walkout happened on the first day of the Budget Session, creating political tension as discussions on the state’s budget and policies begin.
