Yuvraj Singh Questioned in 1xBet Betting App Case
Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi to record his statement in the 1xBet online betting app investigation. The ED is probing possible violations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Officials questioned Yuvraj about his association with the platform, contract details, and whether he was aware of the app’s illegal status in India. He was asked to submit documents related to any endorsement deals.
The case is part of a wider probe into celebrities promoting illegal betting apps through surrogate advertising and QR-code-based campaigns.
Other public figures, including Harbhajan Singh, Robin Uthappa, and Sonu Sood, have also come under ED scrutiny for similar associations. The investigation aims to uncover whether payments received were linked to proceeds of crime.
The ED continues to track promotional links between celebrities and banned platforms to tighten regulations on online betting promotions.
