Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, have purchased a $170 million mansion on Indian Creek Island in Miami. The deal marks the most expensive home sale in Miami-Dade County history.
The property, located at 7 Indian Creek Island Road, sits on the private enclave known as the “billionaire bunker.” The island lies in Biscayne Bay and restricts public access to its roads and golf club. The sellers were celebrity plastic surgeon Aaron Rollins and his wife Marine.
The previous county record was a $120 million sale by developer Vlad Doronin on Star Island. Brokers Jill and Danny Hertzberg represented the sellers in the latest transaction.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Zuckerberg’s net worth stands at $231 billion. A spokesperson declined to comment on the purchase.
Zuckerberg joins other tech leaders investing heavily in Miami real estate. Larry Page recently acquired three properties for $188 million. Sergey Brin is buying a $50 million Miami Beach home.
Indian Creek residents include Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and Tom Brady. It remains unclear whether the Miami mansion will serve as Zuckerberg’s primary residence.
