The Bihar government has started transferring 10,000 rupees for Bihar women as part of the Chief Minister’s Women’s Employment Scheme. On Friday, November 28th, the state will send the money to 10 lakh women, including 9.5 lakh from rural areas and 50,000 from urban areas. All of these beneficiaries are linked with Jeevika groups.
So far, the government has already provided 10,000 rupees each to 1.4 crore women. With the upcoming transfer, 10 lakh more women will receive their assistance. The remaining eligible women will get their payments soon.
Applications for this scheme came in through two methods—urban women applied online, while rural women applied offline. Until now, only women already connected with Jeevika groups have received the financial help.
Another 13 lakh women recently applied online after joining Jeevika. Verification for these applications has started. Once it is complete, they will also receive 10,000 rupees for Bihar women under the scheme.
Jeevika CEO Himanshu Sharma said that all enrolled women will receive their funds within a month. The government expects that by next December, every beneficiary will get the approved assistance.
