BRS leader R.S. Praveen Kumar has alleged that nearly 20,000 fake votes were cast in the Jubilee Hills by-election. He said he filed a complaint with the Election Commission, but there has been no response so far.
Praveen Kumar accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of colluding with the Election Commission to create chaos during the by-election. He claimed to have provided the officials with examples of areas where bogus voting occurred. He also stated that the Commission was asked to deploy additional security in sensitive booths.
According to him, there was no proper security at several polling stations in the Shaikpet division. Even though fake voters were identified live, police reportedly failed to stop them. He alleged that bogus voters were freely allowed to leave polling booths after casting votes.
RSP added that many fake voters carried xerox copies of IDs instead of originals, and their names differed from those of genuine voters. He criticized both the police and election officials for allowing such irregularities without verification.
