58,000 Anganwadi Staff Given Smartphones: Andhra Pradesh Boosts Welfare Services
The Andhra Pradesh government has announced that 58,000 anganwadi staff given smartphones will now help deliver services more quickly and accurately. Officials said the smartphones will support real-time reporting from the field and make daily tasks easier for workers. With this move, 58,000 anganwadi staff given smartphones will allow the department to monitor nutrition, health, and welfare services more efficiently.
Women and Child Welfare and Tribal Welfare Minister P. Sujatha Varma said the upgrade will help mothers and children receive support on time. She added that digital tools make it easier to track services, record data, and respond to local needs without delays.
The Minister also shared that the department has now reached the A++ performance tier. She said this recognition shows the State’s commitment to improving services for women, children, and tribal communities.
Officials believe the smartphones will reduce paperwork and free up more time for field work. They expect better coordination between anganwadi centres, supervisors, and district offices. The government stated that it will continue investing in technology to strengthen its welfare programs and improve the experience of beneficiaries.
