Pawan Kalyan Moves to Curb Red Sandalwood Smuggling

Pawan Kalyan urges strict action against red sandalwood smuggling, stressing stronger monitoring and law enforcement in Andhra Pradesh.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has taken a firm stance against the ongoing red sandalwood smuggling in Andhra Pradesh. The illegal trade has been rampant, with valuable logs being seized in large quantities across several regions. Authorities have already confiscated tonnes of red sandalwood, while smugglers continue to operate in some areas.

To assess the situation, Pawan Kalyan visited Musalimadugu in Chittoor district, a region known for red sandalwood smuggling. During his visit, he inspected a local storage facility and reviewed the current preventive measures. He emphasized the need for stricter enforcement and better coordination among officials to stop the illegal trade.

At the recent cabinet meeting, Pawan Kalyan made key remarks regarding the issue. He called on the Home Department to pay special attention to the red sandalwood smuggling problem and strengthen monitoring systems.

The Deputy Chief Minister’s strong response signals the government’s determination to protect forest resources. His proactive involvement is seen as a push toward stricter law enforcement and environmental preservation in Andhra Pradesh.
