## Harish Rao Targets Congress Over Irrigation Project Spending

download-1-3.jpg

Senior BRS leader *Harish Rao* launched a sharp attack on the Congress government, drawing comparisons between irrigation project allocations under different regimes. He pointed out that the BRS government had invested *₹84,000 crore* in the Medigadda–Mallannasagar project with the aim of providing water to *37 lakh acres. In contrast, he alleged that the Congress government allocated *₹35,000 crore** for the Thammidihatti–Ellampalli project, which would irrigate only *4.47 lakh acres.*

With sarcasm, Harish remarked that spending such a huge amount for a relatively small irrigation benefit is being portrayed as “real change.” He argued that the scale and vision of the Kaleshwaram project demonstrated BRS’s commitment to large-scale agricultural development, unlike Congress’s limited approach.

His comments are being seen as part of the heated political exchanges between the two parties over irrigation policy and financial priorities in Telangana.
