Hyderabad’s Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has set a remarkable record by successfully performing more than 650 robotic surgeries. This achievement highlights the hospital’s growing expertise in advanced medical technology and patient care.
Among these surgeries, the highest number—around 370—were conducted in the urology department, treating patients with complex conditions effectively. In addition, robotic surgeries were also carried out in the gastroenterology and oncology departments , ensuring precision and faster recovery for patients.
The state government has extended strong support through health schemes like CMRF and Aarogyasri, enabling underprivileged patients to access corporate-level medical care at minimal or no cost. This initiative has not only improved healthcare accessibility but also positioned NIMS as a leading institution in advanced surgical techniques. The success of these robotic procedures marks a new era in healthcare services for Telangana.
