Telangana Private Hospitals to Halt Aarogyasri Services from Midnight

Telangana private hospitals stop Aarogyasri services from Sept 16 midnight over unpaid dues, TANHA urges govt to act quickly.

The Telangana Network Hospitals Association (TANHA) announced that Aarogyasri health services will stop across the state from Tuesday midnight. The decision comes after repeated delays in resolving issues with the government.

TANHA president Dr. Vaddiraju Rakesh said the association held several meetings with Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and Aarogyasri Health Care Trust (AHCT) officials. Despite 20 days of discussions, no solution emerged. He added that hospitals can no longer bear the burden of unpaid dues.

Starting September 16 at 11:59 p.m., all private network hospitals will suspend Aarogyasri services indefinitely. Thousands of patients who rely on the scheme for critical treatment will be affected by the suspension.

Dr. Rakesh expressed regret over the inconvenience to patients but urged the public to understand the hospitals’ situation. He appealed to the state government to release pending payments immediately and restore services without delay. TANHA emphasized that only a quick resolution can protect both patients and hospitals.
