Bihar Elections Seat-Sharing: Congress 76 Seats, VIP 60 in Mahagathbandhan

Bihar elections seat-sharing Congress 76 VIP 60

The Bihar Assembly elections seat-sharing talks are moving fast within the Mahagathbandhan. Congress has submitted a claim for 76 seats to the RJD and also shared candidate names. The VIP party has asked for 60 seats, but has only named candidates for half of them so far.

With Dussehra as the deadline, the Grand Alliance wants to finalize seat distribution and candidates together. RJD, the largest ally, will contest at least 130 seats. Left parties like CPI-ML, CPI-M, and CPI have asked for 40 seats. New partners RLJP and JMM are also expected to get 6–8 seats.

The Grand Alliance is focusing on a clear strategy. If two parties demand the same seat, top leaders will decide. The main goal is victory, so candidate selection will depend on winnability. In some cases, a candidate may contest under another party’s symbol to avoid conflict.

This phased announcement of seats and candidates will highlight Mahagathbandhan’s unity. Leaders believe this plan will strengthen their chances and give voters confidence before the elections.
