Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jharsuguda, Odisha, to inaugurate and lay the foundation of development projects worth over Rs 60,000 crore. These projects cover telecom, railways, higher education, healthcare, skill development, and rural housing sectors.
In telecom, over 97,500 4G towers using Swadeshi technology will be commissioned, connecting 26,700 unconnected villages. Solar-powered towers will provide services to over 20 lakh new subscribers, creating India’s largest green telecom cluster.
Railway projects will enhance connectivity and trade, including the Rail Flyover at Sambalpur–Sarla, Koraput–Baiguda line doubling, and Manabar–Koraput–Gorapur line. PM Modi will also flag off the Amrit Bharat Express between Berhampur and Udhna, boosting affordable inter-state travel.
Higher education and skill initiatives include expanding eight IITs, launching MERITE scheme, and Odisha Skill Development Project Phase II. Healthcare infrastructure will be upgraded, and sanction orders under Antyodaya Gruha Yojana will be distributed to 50,000 rural families. These initiatives aim to strengthen innovation, education, healthcare, and social welfare in Odisha.
