In Bihar, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has introduced a strict loyalty rule for the 2025 Assembly elections. Candidates seeking tickets must now swear in God’s name that they will never rebel against the party. Each aspirant must take the oath before two witnesses, promising full support even if not selected.
The oath reads: “If the party does not give me a ticket, I will not oppose it and will support the official candidate. I swear this oath in the name of God and before two witnesses.”
This step comes after several AIMIM MLAs defected in 2020. The party now demands written affidavits to ensure unity and prevent internal sabotage. Over 200 applicants have already submitted resumes and taken the oath. AIMIM plans to contest over 32 seats this election, emphasizing loyalty as the key to party discipline and strength.
