Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader and Grand Alliance CM candidate, announced several promises ahead of the Bihar elections. He pledged pension for Panchayat representatives and higher honorarium for PDS dealers if his government is formed. The honorarium and allowances for Panchayati Raj representatives will be doubled, and pensions will start for former members. Each representative will get insurance of up to ₹50 lakh, and the powers of village courts will be strengthened.
PDS dealers will get honorarium and higher commission per quintal. The age limit of 58 years for compassionate appointments will be removed. Blacksmiths, potters, barbers, and carpenters will get interest-free loans of ₹5 lakh, repayable in five years.
Tejashwi also promised government jobs for every household and better electricity, health, and education. His focus is on rebuilding Bihar through welfare and rural empowerment, especially pension for Panchayat representatives.
