Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar visited the flood-hit areas of Bapatla district to assess the damage caused by the Montha Cyclone. The cyclone has created severe destruction across Andhra Pradesh, especially in coastal regions. During his visit, the Minister inspected the overflowing streams in Annamabothlavaripalem and Parchur areas and reviewed the condition of stored tobacco crops affected by floods.
Speaking to the media, Ravi Kumar said the cyclone caused extensive damage from Machilipatnam to Prakasam district. He noted that the continuous rains and strong winds destroyed large areas of farmland. The Minister assured that the government will support all affected farmers and take immediate steps to help them recover from the losses.
He announced that the government will purchase all rain-soaked tobacco from farmers to reduce their financial burden. Ravi Kumar also confirmed that the state administration is working round the clock to restore normalcy in cyclone-affected areas.
The Minister promised that electric poles and power connections will be restored within 24 hours, including agricultural connections. He emphasized that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s government stands by every farmer who suffered due to the cyclone and that rehabilitation measures are already underway.
