A serious road accident occurred near Vaggampalli village in Prakasam district on Saturday morning. An RTC bus traveling from Pamuru to Kanigiri collided with a DCM truck, leaving around ten passengers injured. The bus was partially damaged in the impact, and the driver sustained severe injuries. All the injured were shifted to Kanigiri Government Hospital for treatment.
Local police arrived at the scene soon after the accident and cleared the damaged vehicles from the road. Preliminary reports suggest that overspeeding might have caused the collision. The condition of the driver is reported to be critical, while other passengers are recovering under medical supervision.
Frequent road accidents across the state have raised concerns among commuters. Incidents involving RTC buses have particularly become worrisome for regular passengers.
Travelers are urging the government to implement stricter safety measures to prevent such mishaps. Authorities have assured that further investigation into the cause of the Prakasam accident is underway.
