Bihar enters a decisive day as counting for the 2025 Assembly Election begins at 8 a.m. on Friday. The contest features three central figures—Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav and Prashant Kishor—each aiming to shape Bihar’s future. Exit polls have already predicted a sweeping victory for the NDA, with the INDIA bloc expected to face major setbacks.

Nitish Kumar seeks a fifth consecutive term, relying on his long administrative record. JD(U) leaders, including Shravan Kumar, expressed confidence in a clear NDA victory. Tejashwi Yadav dismissed exit polls as misleading. He compared them to recent media inaccuracies, stressing that voters would decide the real outcome. RJD leaders warned against any irregularities during the count. Sunil Kumar Singh issued strong statements that sparked political tension.

The BJP responded firmly. State chief Dilip Jaiswal assured that the party was prepared to ensure a peaceful counting process. Bihar recorded a historic turnout of 67.13 percent across two voting phases. Seemanchal saw the highest participation, crossing 75 percent in several districts.

The Election Commission set up 46 counting centres across 38 districts. Over 7.45 crore voters have decided the fate of 2,616 candidates. Results are expected to appear soon after 9 a.m.
