Patna:
Union Food Processing Industries Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on Sunday confirmed that the next Bihar government will be formed before November 22. Speaking to reporters, he said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) – which swept the 2025 assembly elections with 202 seats – is finalising its blueprint for government formation, with an announcement expected within the next one or two days.

Paswan said discussions within the alliance are underway, adding, “A sense of clarity will come on the blueprint of the government. I will speak with senior Union Ministers, and the blueprint will be ready by today or tomorrow. We have to form the government before 22nd November. It will be done.”

His remark comes a day after he publicly endorsed JDU leader Nitish Kumar to continue as chief minister. Although a formal announcement has not yet been made, several NDA leaders have supported Kumar’s continuation in the top post.

According to sources, the NDA has agreed on a cabinet-sharing formula under which each party will get one ministerial berth for every six MLAs. With 89 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to receive 15 or 16 ministerial positions. The Janata Dal United (JDU), which has 85 seats, will likely get 14 berths.

Paswan’s LJP-RV, after winning 19 seats, will secure three ministerial berths. Additionally, Jitan Ram Manjhi-led Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), with five seats, will get one berth, while Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), which won four seats, will also be allotted one berth.

The NDA is expected to formally announce its government formation schedule soon, with top alliance leaders preparing to participate in the swearing-in ceremony in Patna.
