A major road accident occurred near Begumpet bus stop in Hyderabad on Tuesday morning. The incident took place when a heavy-load truck arrived from the Outer Ring Road side. It hit a Mahindra Thar vehicle from behind. The Thar rear portion broke into pieces due to strong impact. The load truck overturned on the road after the collision.
Local people informed the police and emergency teams immediately. The police reached the spot and controlled the traffic. The injured persons were moved to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Their current medical condition is under observation.
The number of persons inside the Thar vehicle is still unknown. The police are checking CCTV footage to identify complete details. Initial information suggests that overspeed may be the main reason for the accident. Mechanical failure has also not been ruled out.
A case has been filed and formal investigation is now in progress. Police officials advised citizens to follow road safety rules. The authorities also requested heavy-vehicle drivers to maintain safe distance and proper speed limits in city zones. The public expressed concern over repeated accidents happening near the same route.
