Everyone in Bihar is watching the Anant Singh bail plea as the JDU leader stays in jail in a major murder case. Many are curious to see whether he will come out on the day of Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in. The Anant Singh bail plea is now before the Patna Civil Court, and the hearing is set for Thursday. In his petition, he says he is a victim of political revenge. He also claims that the victim’s family is targeting him to damage his public image.
The case began on October 30, 2025, when Dularchand Yadav, a worker campaigning for Jansuraj candidate Piyush Priyadarshi, was murdered in Basavanchak under the Ghoswari police station in Mokama. Anant Singh was named as the main accused. Police arrested him on the night of November 1. After he was taken to court on November 2, he was shifted to Beur Jail, where he remains.
Despite the case, Anant Singh won the Mokama seat with a strong margin. He defeated RJD candidate Veena Devi by 28,206 votes. As Bihar prepares for Nitish Kumar’s oath ceremony at Gandhi Maidan, this bail decision has become a major political highlight.
