Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana has postponed her wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal after her father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack on Sunday. The incident occurred at the Mandhana family’s farmhouse in Samdol, Sangli, where the wedding ceremony was scheduled to take place on November 23.
Mr. Shrinivas’s health suddenly deteriorated during breakfast, prompting the family to call an ambulance. He was rushed to the hospital, where he is currently stable but under continuous medical observation. Doctors have advised that he remain hospitalized for further monitoring.
Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, confirmed that the wedding has been deferred indefinitely. He said Smriti is extremely close to her father and decided not to proceed with the ceremony until he fully recovers.
Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana were recently engaged at the DY Patil Cricket Stadium, the venue where the Indian women’s team won the 2025 World Cup.
Shrinivas Mandhana, a former district-level cricketer from Sangli, had always dreamed of pursuing the sport professionally and later provided full support to both his children, especially Smriti, who rose to become one of India’s top women’s cricketers.
