A fresh ACB case has hit suspended IAS officer Vinay Kumar Choubey. The Anti-Corruption Bureau filed a new FIR against him and seven of his family members. This action comes at a time when Choubey remains in jail for earlier corruption charges. As a result, the investigation has gained more pace. The ACB team found new financial gaps, and these findings triggered the fresh case.

The bureau named his wife Swapna Sanchita, father-in-law Satyendranath Trivedi, brother-in-law Shipij Trivedi, and sister-in-law Priyanka Trivedi. It also booked Vinay Kumar Singh, director of Nexgen and a close associate of Choubey, along with Singh’s wife Snigdha Singh. Together, the group allegedly helped Choubey collect assets far beyond his legal income.

Earlier, the ACB started a detailed inquiry in May after Choubey’s arrest. Since then, the inquiry has opened several money trails. These trails link the officer and his relatives to real estate, bank deposits, and various investments. Because of this, officials now believe the case has become stronger. They also expect more illegal assets to be recovered.

Meanwhile, the bureau continues to track the money trail. More documents are surfacing each week. Due to these developments, many voices in administrative circles are calling for tighter checks on senior officials.
