Hyderabad: A shocking murder in Kukatpally has led to the detention of a man identified as Sanjay, a native of Odisha, in connection with the killing of 10-year-old Sahasra.
The girl, a Class VI student, was found dead at her home on Monday with her throat slit. Her parents, Krishna and Renuka, had gone out for work, leaving her at home as her school was closed for holidays. The incident came to light when her father returned around noon to collect food for his son and discovered her lying in a pool of blood on the bed.
Police inquiries revealed that Sanjay, who lived on the second floor of the same building, had been frequently visiting the family’s house in their absence. Neighbours confirmed his suspicious presence on multiple occasions. Investigators suspect he may have harbored a grudge against Sahasra’s family, believing they were connected to his wife’s illness. However, officials are not ruling out other possible motives.
Sanjay has been taken into custody for questioning, and the police continue to probe the case from all angles. The incident has left the locality in shock, raising concerns over child safety in residential neighborhoods.
